The most beautiful crochet and knitting patterns in pictures

You find online and in magazines the most beautiful patterns against. Patterns to crochet and knit. As a result, you will learn new stitches, new terms and perhaps many more. Now what is the difference in stitches and in crochet and knitting?

Patterns what are these

What is meant by patterns? You have visual patterns, these can be made up of things like circles, squares (e.g. in checkerboard pattern) and or any other basic figure. One also speaks of a pattern if there is not a strict repetition, for example in the case of the work of Maurits Cornelis Escher. Here the repetition is characterized by gradual changes of the basic figure. There are thinking and behavioral patterns. When thinking and/or behavior proceed according to predictable rules one speaks of a thinking and/or behavior pattern. And In music, a pattern is a certain sequence (sequence) of notes, drums or percussion.

Visual

Today I am going to talk about visual patterns. I do not make them myself for crochet and knitting. I do not invent new stitches either. Although sometimes I still adjust the amount of stitches, because otherwise it is too big or too small. Usually I crochet and knit fixed examples that I find in books or on the internet. When I am looking for a new design for a garment, I am often inspired by the stitches, In the course of time I have come to know many beautiful patterns. Whereas in the beginning of my creative career I preferred to knit straight and crochet and could only crochet with fixed stitches, lately I have developed quite a bit and try increasingly difficult patterns.

What is so difficult

Although I still sometimes leave patterns lying around that are too complicated for me. I notice that I am getting better at it. The most beautiful patterns I have learned lately from Maris from Creachick. By using her examples I learned the waffle stitch and the cross stitch. Maris’ patterns are often visualized, She draws out exactly with symbols what you have to do to get the pattern.

What was the hardest stitch

The trickiest pattern I have made so far is the cable in crochet version. Knitting a cable is tricky enough, but crocheting is even more complicated. It was about Creachick’s men’s vest and luckily there was an über patient lady on the site who explained this stitch step by step. I really watched the video countless times but eventually I got the hang of it. On the pictures below you see the pattern of a sweater where the cable is knitted and a cardigan where the cable is crocheted.

The gray cardigan is crocheted and the red sweater is knitted.

Waffle stitch and cross stitch

Also through the same site of Creachick I found two super cute cardigans to crochet. Again with (for me) new stitches. One with waffle stitch and the other with cross stitch. Very nice stitches to crochet. In the beginning it takes some counting and checking but when you get the hang of it, it’s fine again.
